— Sunday Mornings

Your first time at worship at a church can be an adventure when you do not know what to expect. At Trinity all services include music, preaching, an offering, and a time for public responses to God’s Word. Each service is slightly different.

What Do I Wear?   Modest/casual “as you are” to formal.  8:30 & 9:45 services with a Praise Team or acoustical worship you will see maybe one tie. 11:00 service with piano, organ & choir you will see more ties and dresses.

8:30 Worship

Worship at 8:30 a.m. is led by a Praise Band/Vocal Team made up of Trinity Baptist Church members. The singing, consisting of contemporary Christian tunes and ageless hymns, is done by the congregation with words projected on the screens for all to see. Our Pastor, John Wheat, brings the message and a time of response at the end allows those in attendance to make spiritual decisions. The offering is taken at the end.

Instrumental sounds will range from an acoustic blend basic guitar to fuller, more driving rhythms with drums/electric guitar and a full band. This service will take on a relaxed and informal feel as the Word is sung, preached by our Pastor, John Wheat and shared by Trinity Baptist Church members. A time of response at the end includes spiritual decisions as well as a offering utilizing offering boxes.

KCYR 101.5 LP FM

by Stephanie Clarke & Rylie Gordon

Did you know Trinity Baptist Church owns a radio station? KCYR 101.5 LP FM transmits right here from our steeple!

Riley Gordon, Misty Gordon and I have been working on improving it ever since we took over managing it in 2021. Over the last few years, we have had a lot of changes. We slimmed our format to be mostly music, commercial-free with only a few programs currently peppered into the mix.

We have strived to find Biblically-sound content – that also rocks. We carefully search the web to procure fresh music that you won’t hear on KLOVE. My musical vision for KCYR was modeled after an independent station I used to listen to that is based in Vermont. The goal was not only to have music be theologically sound as possible, but also SOUND good! We knew there had to be better content out there that wasn’t POP music. We canceled our contract with Salem Music, and brought all music in-house.

We had help from a local radio station owner, Justin McClure (JAM Broadcasting), who donated A LOT of his time, along with an entire library of Christian rock from a station he used to run in Stephenville years ago. It was a great start to our new in-house library which is growing all the time!

The next thing we tackled was putting together an app for our station! A few months ago, Riley and I began researching apps, and found one suitable for our station. Now, those of you who listen while in town, but can’t when you head back home, can keep on listening as long as you have a data signal! After much work, we’re excited to finally invite you to download the new KCYR app!!

Available in iPhone and Android platforms for free. No ads. You can listen anywhere, even outside the Kerrville city limits! There are options to like or dislike the songs, set notifications for a song you love and the app will let you know when it will play next. You can even send song requests!

Stay tuned for the following programs coming soon:
Bible Thinker with Pastor Mike Winger – Mondays/Saturdays at 7pm
Love Worth Finding with Adrian Rogers – Tuesdays/Saturdays at 8pm (Coming Soon!)
KCYR Coffeehouse – Saturday mornings at 6am (Coming Soon!)

The Worship Ministry of TBCK is back in full swing, of course, and we are looking forward to a wonderful year. The biggest project on the schedule right now is “The Victor”. Of course, this is my first time leading and being a part of this wonderful tradition, and I have had a great time learning the music and drama and all the moving parts. If you have never been a part of this moving production we would love for you to come join us. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have. There are any number of ways you could be involved and use your gifts and talents.

Looking forward to a wonderful year with our church family.

It will be an exciting presentation of music telling the story of Christ’s birth, featuring some new and some beloved traditional Christmas favorites presented by our Worship Choir, 8:30 & 9:45 Praise Bands. We are thrilled to have our Handbell Choir joining us also! Our Praise Kids, and our Trinity Worship Signers, will also be featured. Each group bringing their own flavor to our program.

Grab your family & friends and join us for this year’s Christmas Worship Program. You have two opportunities to join us, Saturday, December 16th or Sunday, December 17th at 7:00pm. You won’t want to miss it!

You know it just wouldn’t be Christmas at Trinity if we didn’t go out Caroling! Don your festive apparel and come with us as we spread some holiday cheer on Wednesday, December 20th at 6:00pm. There will be cookies and hot chocolate in the Family Life Center to follow.

Finally, Christmas Eve is on Sunday this year and we will have one service in the morning at 11:00am. We will have our usual two Christmas Eve services that evening, at 5:00pm and 6:30pm.

Take a moment, stop and reflect on what Christmas means: Jesus Christ is born! Treasure this season, make memories, and try not to get caught up in the stressful chaos of ‘to-do’ lists. Instead, enjoy the time spent with family and friends as you celebrate together.

Merry Christmas, Church Family!
